Welcome back to Multicore. This is Instruction Set for the week of Monday, June 3rd, coming at you a little later and a lot longer than usual so I can cram in some coverage of Computex Taipei.
Computex is the world’s biggest computer show, and it’s hard to imagine bigger news in computing than Microsoft’s recent Windows-on-ARM salvo. Nevertheless, there’s already been a ton of news at the show, on top of a lot to catch up on from last week.
Let’s get into it.
Acer kicked things off early with something completely unexpected: a standalone 3D camera.
