The last week in tech news was entirely dominated by the Apple Vision Pro. The rollout was actually quite typical for an Apple product; reviews dropped Tuesday, and units shipped on Friday. That’s what happens with every iPhone. But since the Vision Pro is a truly new thing for Apple, the headset got a full week of attention where it felt like the hottest thing in the world.
As a reminder, the Vision Pro starts at $3,499, it’s only available in the US, and analysts generally expect Apple to be able to make half a million headsets this year at most regardless of demand. The chances of you seeing someone wear one in your local café is probably not high.
But the Vision Pro is indeed now out there in the wild, and we’ve learnt a whole lot about it in the past week. As such, I’m devoting this Instruction Set to the kind of revelations that only happen when people actually buy and review a product.
